Well, the best we’ve had so far. We love Japanese food. It’s such a diverse cuisine with so many regional variations that we get to discover new dishes every time we eat out at a different place.
So by chance, Andy found this place called Gold- a name that either sounds promising, or disappointingly corny. And to be honest we weren’t the best customers that day; Andy was suffering from a huge headache, and I was recovering from a fight. So the expectation to satisfy us with food were extremely high that day, but damn, they really turned our gloomy day upside down.
Do you know the joy of amuse-bouche, also called appetizers? It’s like a present on top of a visit from a person you love. So, they did everything right by bringing us a nice avocado cream (with makerel I believe?) amuse-bouche, and our moods completely shifted.
As a starter, we ordered a selection of gyoza, which were probably one of the best gyozas we’ve ever tried. Not greasy at all, that is.
As a main, Andy ordered an amazing chicken beef wok with rice and I was so pleased that they offered a portion of vegetarian sushi. Thumbs up for vegetarian options!!! 😀
Can we please take a moment to admire the mixture between fruit and rice? They didn’t only serve the classic avocado roll, but surprised me with some strawberry nigiri.
So all in all, Gold really deserves its name, and so far it’s the best Japanese restaurant we’ve tried in Luxembourg.
