“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts.” (Mark Twain)
As much as in real life, travelling has become a hunting down of a ‘must-see-list’. We prioritize the places that get most recognition among our friends and in the media, and often forget to rely on our own judgement.
So here’s a tiny list of places which might not be included in your list of dream destinations, but which are totally worth to explore. Let’s get straight into it:
1. Soprabolzano & Lago di Carezza
Most people who visit the iconic Lago di Carezza stay in Bolzano. Soprabolzano is perfect if you want to experience an even more authentic touch of the South Tyrolian life style, and be a short-distance walk away from the lake.
2. Macedonia- lake Ohrid
In particular around the Ohridsko jezero, one of the world’s oldest lakes.
3. Milos island (Greece)
This beautiful island stands in the shadow of Santorini.
Yes, it’s a tiny country, but that doesn’t mean that it should be ignored.
5. Utrecht (Netherlands)
In terms of cultural heritage this city has as much to offer as Amsterdam, to say the least.
